Nintendo's supposedly telling developers to expect their next platform in Spring of 2005, which is roughly in line with current estimates for the PS3 and Xbox 2. While talks are a long way from an actual SDK, it's nice to hear that Nintendo's taking this next race so seriously, especially as Sony has suddenly (with the announcement of the PSX) started giving the impression that they will be milking the PS2 hardware for some time now. The next-generation console race (that's the next-next-generation console race, for those who still insist on calling this current generation "next-generation") got a bit hotter today, as IGN reported today that Nintendo has begun preliminary talks with developers about their post-GameCube system.
